The first thing I do when I wake up is make my bed. ![]() She breaks down the process of getting your house back into order in what she calls “baby steps”. If you haven’t before, I really recommend reading her book Chaos to Clean. She has a great iPhone app, that I swear by, with an easy checklist for routines. I was introduced to her several years ago, and came back and implemented a lot of her strategies. My morning routine is loosely based off of the Fly Lady. ![]() This is a routine, not a schedule, which is flexible to meet your needs. Some days I break this routine down into two chunks, saving the laundry and dishwasher for after I drop off the kids. I’m not a “morning person”, but I’ve learned that to be a morning person I need a routine so that I can flow seamlessly from one task to another. Then I would roll out of bed and into the kitchen in my pajamas, make breakfast, pack lunches, beg my kids to eat, get them dressed in between bites of food, and then throw some decent clothes on myself minutes before we walked out the door. In the past, I would hit the snooze button on my alarm until absolutely the last minute possible. With a quality morning routine, you start your day out on the right foot, instead of wasting the best hours of the day not getting much accomplished.Įvery day is a new day, and you’ll never be able to find happiness if you don’t move on. Morning routines are so important to a happy, healthy, and productive Stepford life. ![]()
